THIS IS BENAL-LIFE.COM
Costa del Sol street markets, the street markets of the Costa del Sol
Although Benal-life.com concentrates on Benalmadena Costa and Arroyo de la Miel, we appreciate that locals and visitors like to travel to other street markets. We have listed a selection, and although it is by no means exhaustive it covers most of the coastal and many inland towns. We have tried to confirm that the information is accurate and up to date but street markets are inclined to spring up and disappear without warning (Please note that one of the biggest on the coast at Fuengirola which had been closed for at least 6 months for redevelopment has now reopened) Also you will find Mijas Costa listed on many sites, but that is currently a massive hole in the ground and and will not be returning (It has in fact be developed and is now an immense branch of El Corte Ingles / Hipercor). If you are aware of any misinformation please let me know and I will make corrections as required.
Our own markets are highlighted. The Fair Ground at Paloma Park hosts’ the Wednesdays car boot sale and on Fridays a small “regular” market with Fruit & Veg stalls mingling with all the regular clothes. leather goods and gift stalls that you would expect. At the top of the town, also on Fridays outside Tivoli world there is a Large general market (remember to stop off for a “brandy coffee” at one of the many bars in Arroyo “village”. During the winter months Tivoli world runs a Sunday market (they charge 1 euro admission) which opens at 11:00 am and offers a mix of car boot type goods with many stalls offering new items.(Cancelled by the new owners, but rumour says it might re-open) and in fact reopened January 2006. 2022 update Tivoli World is permanently closed.
