THIS IS BENAL-LIFE.COM
This is the timeline for the propery located on
Av. Blas Infante, 21 – Arroyo de la Miel which as far as this site goes was first recorded in 2005 ish when it was a bar under construction it eventually opened for just a few months and remained closed for several years waiting for a buyer when it was picked up on Benal-life.com. When opened as “Matahambre” Thereafter came the changes that you can see on this page.
In June 2012 the premises became La Catedral
La Catedral was visited on June 18, 2012 by webmaster@benal-life.com
and says, ”La Catedral recently replaced Mata Hambre as operators of this very well appointed restaurant. The staff are not too proffessional but are young and obviously being trained to be attentive. The menu is vast, in fact it is far too big to make a choice as is the wine list. We eventually settled on a starter to share of Pate de foi gras layered with caramelised apples and topped with cheese. Main courses of medallions of pork loin and lamb chops. The starter was absolutely delicious and we were about half way through when the waiters arrived with our main courses! We were enjoying the starter with an excellent, slightly expensive, red wine and decided that we needed another 20 or 30 minutes before the main course and asked them to take the main courses away.
We were a little uncomfortable about this and unable to imagine how it could of happened as there were only another 6 or 8 customers and the meat course was so basic that cooking it should not have even been started until starters were finished. The mains were passable, nothing exceptional or even up to normal home cooking.
The night we went they were promoting several dishes with a 50% discount plus half price Canas. we had a couple of canaas to start with but when the bill arrived they were charged at full price and when queried the computer was blamed. Half price canas are neither here nor there but a final bill of 48 euros left us thinking that there are better and cheaper places to eat in Arroyo.”
It spent same time closed before it fell under the Lizarran Banner in July 2016
