“Recently opened this location has been home to one of my favourite restaurants for many years, firstly when it was hosted by Pepin & Manolo.  This is several changes on and still has the same look but with a completely different ambience.  Saturday night in July and the terrace was buzzing with all tables taken, several of which had been pre-booked and filled with families containing the very old and the very young. We were early enough to get a table for 2 and watched the crowds arriving, and with only one waiter I had a sense of apprehension.  However he was efficient and fast enough to keep all tables supplied in good time.   The menu is reasonably priced with a wide choice of rations from 3 euros up to Galician sourced steaks being sold by weight at 45 euros per kilo.  We shared a goats cheese salad which was tastily garnished and huge, followed by fried rosada and a 250 – 300g fillet steak that was both flavoursome and luscious. 

Seated on Plaza Mayor we were well entertained watching our fellow diners and people watching the through traffic (pedestrian that is).  No longer El Figon de Pepins but a worthy successor that I am sure will prosper.”
