EL DIA DE LOS REYES – THE DAY OF THE THREE KINGS

What we know as Epiphany, the arrival of the Three Kings is defined in Spain is an annual celebration that revolves around the evening of the 5th of January, when the Three Kings’ Parade in 3 locations firstly in the port later in the Pueblo and finally in Arroyo de la Miel with literally thousands of people jostling along the sides of the route hoping to get a glimpse of the arrival of the Three Kings and collect some of the tens of thousands os sweets hurled from the many floats into the waiting crowds. The Three Kings are far more important to the children of Spain who rely on the Kings for their gifts the morning of January 6th.
