There is a mish mash of furniture in the alley that serves as their terrace, which is fine, but we sat at the pub style garden bench which was filthy expecting it to be cleaned before our order was taken, it wasn’t. It was now that I realised that I was sitting in something sticky, making a stain on the seat of my trousers. I pointed it out to the waiter who shrugged his shoulders and said that its just water.

In an attempt to clean up I went into the Gents to try and rinse the stain. This is my first time in this particular gents and is where my concern for hygiene arises. As someone who uses the cleanliness of the toilets as a guide to the state of the kitchens I can only say that I am concerned and will not be eating here again”

This bar restaurant is a family run business, run by a lovely local Spanish couple. The lady also speaks English as well as Spanish which is a very strong bonus in a town where most speak Spanish. We found the staff to be very welcoming, friendly and the service to be of excellent quality.

Unlike many other Tapas bars we came across in Arroyo de la Miel Benalmadena, this place serves absolutely delicious traditional authentic Spanish tapas and at excellent prices! The drinks are also very well priced. The Rincon de la Paquita is located in a convenient quiet little side street called Calle Cauce in Arroyo de la Miel, Benalmadena but close to all the main shops and transport. It is open all day and also in the evenings, so they don’t close for siesta. We regularly ate there and thoroughly recommend their fantastic quality food, especially the lovely Spanish Omelette and their daily fresh Sardinas which are magnificent! The atmosphere was always relaxed and friendly. Overall, a wonderful place to unwind, relax and taste a real taste of Spain after a busy day of sightseeing and shopping. We rate it 5 stars!”
